Dried daikon tea:
to remove fat deposits and aid in decreasing blood cholesterol levels. This remedy is especially good during the winter:
Add one cup of chopped daikon (or grated dried daikon) to 2 ½ cups of water.
Simmer them for around 20 minutes. You may add 1 dried shiitake mushroom or one inch kombu.
For the children, you can add 1 teaspoon of rice syrup.
In general, you can have this at 1-3 times a week, depending on your health condition.
Warm Pudding:
This is a wonderful warm pudding that you could have for a breakfast or even alight dinner. It is great for the kids to have in
the morning before school.
Mix 1 ½ 0r 2 tablespoons of rice flour with 1 to 1 ½ cups of water. Then add ½ a teaspoon of vanilla powder, 1/8 teaspoon
of salt and a fruit like slices of half a banana. You can also replace the water with rice milk. Stir all the ingredients on a low
flame until the mixture thickens. This should take a few minutes only. You can also garnish your pudding with almonds and
raisins or a teaspoon of rice syrup.. Kids love that!
Winter Detox Soup:
This is a soup especially great during the autumn.
Ingredients: 2 cups grated daikon (or dried daikon)- 4 shiitake mushrooms- 1 inch kombu- ½ teaspoon salt- 4 cups water-
scallions or green onions to garnish
Cook the shiitake and kombu in the water for 5 minutes. Remove the kombu and continue cooking the shiitake for another 5
minutes. Add the daikon and salt and cook for 10 minutes.
Finally, add a little bi of chopped green onions or scallions to garnish each soup bowl
Simple Ear Ache :
If you have a simple ear ache, this is an easy remedy that should alleviate the pain.
Moisten a small piece of clean cloth with oil. Then sprinkle it with black pepper and apply it to the outside of the ear as a
compress for 10-15 minutes.
Decrease Your Fat:
One of the best ways to decrease fat and especially blood cholesterol in your bodies is to include a little bit of daikon in your
food. Try the following home remedy that includes daikon as a main ingredient:
Finely chop 1 cup of daikon and 1 cup of carrots (chop them like matchsticks).
Mix them together and add 2 tablespoons of brown rice vinegar with ¼ teaspoon of salt.
Mix them all together and lightly massage all the ingredients until they get soft and water starts oozing out of them.
put a plate and a heavy thing over the ingredients to press them.
Leave it pressed for 1-2 hours.
You can have ½ the amount prepared 2-3 times a week.

For cough & phlegm:
When you have a cold and have a deep dry cough that is irritating you, try this useful remedy that should loosen your cough and phlegm: Mix 1 teaspoon of kuzu starch, 1 teaspoon of dried lotus root powder and 1 cup of water. Mix them on a low flame for a few minutes until done. For children, add 1 teaspoon of rice syrup to sweeten it. Drink this cup while warm. You can have 2 cups per day.

Pink Eye Remedy:
If you have a pink eye, you can grate a raw potato or cut into thin slices.
After washing your face and eyes with cool water, gently dry your face, close your eyes, and cover them with the raw potato
for 10-20 minutes. Red potatoes are the best if they are available.
This remedy should release the pain in your eyes and the redness should go away.
